Translation lifeline offered for travellers

Thursday, 27 Mar 2008 08:32
The latest travel accessory - CallUma - can translate 120 languages and help holidaymakers out of any tight spot abroad, its makers claim.

With over half of Britons unable to speak a second language and 47 per cent admitting they would not know who to call in an emergency abroad, CallUma could be a lifeline.

This multi-lingual personal assistant away from home offers members 24-hour, 365-day telephone interpretation and information services.

Telephone interpreters can speak to people for you or make a phone call on your behalf.

They can even call the emergency services, keeping you on the line to ensure the situation is dealt with as quickly as possible.

Assistance with lost or stolen credit cards, online document storage and luggage tracking are other services offered by CallUma.
