Young children travelling more than ever before

One in four babies under the age of six months has been overseas at least four times, according to new research.
The www.insurance.co.uk figures reveal that British youngsters are now likely to be more well travelled than the over-60 age group, with one in three older people never having left the UK.
The research also found that 60 per cent of children under the age of three have been on at least one holiday overseas, while 30 per cent have been abroad at least three times.
Steve Grainger, head of insurance.co.uk, thinks the trend for young travel is partly driven by stricter government rules about term time holidays restricting families with school-age kids to the expensive school holiday period.
"New parents are aware that they will not be able to benefit from cheap 'kids go free', term time deals and are making the most of extended maternity leave," he explained.
Mr Grainger also noted that families travelling with young children and taking "lots of gadgets and toys abroad, might need to pay more attention to the value of [travel insurance] cover they take out".
