An innovative new resort in Fiji with bungalows located over a lagoon is to open in February 2007.
The Likuliku Lagoon resort is the first of its kind in Fiji, and will offer holidaymakers with money to spend a chance to stay in one of the ten bungalows (known as bures) suspended over the water.
The resort is located in the Mamanuca archipelago, on Masima Island, and has 46 bures in total, most of which will be land-based and on the coast.
Each bure has internet access, phones, music systems and DVD players, as well as its own platform for easy access to the lagoon.
Activities on offer include bush walks across the Mamanuca Islands, guided snorkelling, parasailing, windsurfing, game fishing and scuba diving.
The Likuliku Lagoon Resort will be accessible by speedboat, seaplane, fast catamaran or helicopter.
Prices start from £221 per night per person, based on two sharing a bure.
Flights with Air New Zealand start from £838 per person based upon travel until March 2007.
