Luxury spa holidays in Fiji

Luxury spa holiday options in Fiji are on the up for 2007
A series of new spas have opened on the islands of Fiji, making the South Pacific destination one of the hottest new places to go on a luxury spa holiday.
With travel warnings currently lifted to Fiji and the country's political coup last December looking increasingly unlikely to affect tourism, holidaymakers looking to visit the islands this year for a luxury break have a wealth of high-end hotels to choose from.
Some of the most recently opened spas include facilities in big hotel chains including the Westin, Hilton and Sofitel as well as the Yasawa Island Resort.
Three of these are on Denerau Island, around a 20-minute drive from Nadi international airport.
The Westin Denerau Island Resort & Spa has the largest spa in Fiji, with ten treatment rooms offering shower treatments, hydrotherapy and a 25-metre pool, set among the lagoons and gardens.
For the ultimate in luxury, holidaymakers can book themselves into one of the Westin's two live-in spa suites.
The
Sofitel's Mandara Spa opened last year and offers an Pevonia Botanica and Elemis treatments, and the five-star
Hilton Fiji Resort & Spa that also has spa facilities, along with access to grass tennis courts and a golf course.
If you want to get away from it all and find yourself a more remote hideaway the
Yasawa Island Resort is located among Fiji's outer islands.
Voted Best Romantic Hideaway by Condé Nast last year, the resort's spa has only been open for a few months.
A mix of old and new, the Bavari Spa has synchronised massage therapy, spa pools and outdoor treatments right by the ocean.
Scheduled for opening later this year are spas at two luxury Fiji hotels the
Outrigger on the Lagoon, on the island of Viti Levu, and the
Shangri La Fijian Resort on Yanuca Island.
