Eurostar launch through-fares

International rail operator Eurostar has made it possible to book travel from 68 towns and cities across the UK to destinations in France and Belgium including Paris and Brussels.
The new through-fares link the Eurostar ticketing system with the UK train services run by Virgin Trains, First Capital Connect, National Express East Coast, East Midlands Trains, Chiltern Railways, Hull Trains and London Midland.
The tickets give access to a total of 75 destinations in France, any station in Belgium (onward travel from Brussels is free for Eurostar customers), and the Disneyland Resort in Paris.
"Travellers in cities such as Leeds, Leicester, Cambridge, York and Birmingham can now simply go to Eurostar.com and book one fare valid for the entire journey from their local mainline station to their continental destination," Eurostar explained.
"They then collect their tickets from the self-service ticket machines at the station just before starting their journeys."
It added through-fares would take into account late-running connecting services, and allow for travel on the next available Eurostar or UK train service at no extra cost.
The range of through-fares is set to be extended later next year.
