There are some serious bargains for holidaymakers looking to get in some last-minute skiing before the Christmas festivities.
This week's best bargain is on return flights to Montreal, Canada, from £222, departing from London Gatwick up until December 16th 2006.
Good for a family ski holiday, Montreal is near five resorts on Mont Saint Sauveur, which offer small runs ideal for children, as well as a challenging 800-metre vertical drop at Mont-Sainte-Anne.
You can get over your adrenalin rush with some retail therapy at Montreal’s underground city – a subterranean world of 2,000 shops, 30 kilometres long.
There are also return flights from Edinburgh to Aspen, Colorado, in the US from £376. Aspen recently picked up awards for its eco-friendly skiing, which includes a wind-powered ski lift. The deal is valid for departures up until December 16th 2006.
And if North America is just too far, there is a late deal to Geneva from London Heathrow for £78 return. Geneva is a great hub to get into either the French or Swiss Alps, and has lots to see and do, including the world's tallest fountain - the Jed d’Eau - and plenty of fine dining.
