Free London taxi rides

Monday, 28 Jul 2008 13:17
The Chicago and Illinois Tourist Office is giving Londoners free cab rides and a chance to win a trip for two to their fair city during the month of August.

A fleet of 25 specially-branded taxis will be cruising the streets of London and ten of them will be offering free cab rides within zones one and two on Monday August 4th and Friday August 29th.

The cabs will be adorned with quirky phrases and images of Chicago's skyline.

Jan Kostner, deputy director of the Chicago and Illinois Tourist Office, said he hopes the taxis will give "Londoners a taste of the city".

"Through the free rides and complimentary holiday, we're hoping to show people why Chicago is the ideal city-break," he continued.

To be in to win the holiday prize you have to take a photo of one of the Chicago-branded cabs on your camera phone and text it to 87121, including the word CHICAGO in your picture text message.

The prize is a trip for two to Chicago with United Airlines, three nights in a nice downtown hotel and generous spending money.
