There was good news for skiers planning to go to Canada this season as the country's most famous resort Whistler Blackcomb is already seeing snowfall.
As much as 30cm of snowfall was seen over the weekend, with more forecast throughout this week.
"Waking up in the morning, peering out at snow on the mountains in September gets everyone really fired up for the coming season," explained Michelle Leroux, of Whistler Blackcomb.
"Now is when everyone starts to crave skiing and riding. Last year was so epic; memories of waist-deep power are definitely feeding the excitement for this coming season."
This season is predicted to be a "La Niña" year, which means it is wetter and colder than usual in autumn and early winter.
The resort usually sees over 1,000 centimetres of snow each year, though last year had as much as 1,400 centimetres. Despite this the resort is still planning to turn on its snowmaking equipment next week.
