Walking holidays to Italy, Argentina and South Africa are available for holidaymakers looking for an active holiday in the sunshine.

Tours of Rome, Patagonia in Argentina, and two itineraries centred around South Africa's tourist hotspot Cape Town are being offered by walking holidays specialist Ramblers Worldwide in the run up to Christmas and in January 2008.

The Rome walking city break combines history and art with sights in and around the Italian city including the Vatican, The Forum, Capitoline Hill, Campo dei Fiori, The Christian Catacombs, Tivoli and Hadrian’s Villa. The week-long trip departs December 20th 2007.

On the Patagonia walking holiday there will be a chance to see the region's famously beautiful countryside as well as Iguazú Falls, go on a day-trip to Uruguay and visit the Fitzroy Range and Los Glaciares National Park. The 17-day trip departs January 17th 2008.

The Cape Province trip includes trips to the area's Winelands, Karoo, the Swartberg Mountains, Table Mountain, the coast at Knysna and the Garden Route. The 19-day trip departs December 27th 2007.

There is also the two-centre Cape Town and Knsyna tour, which visits the Atlantic Coast, the Cape Malay area, the Jewish Museum, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Silvermine Nature Reserve and an ascent of Table Mountain. The 17-day tour also includes stops at the Featherbed Nature Reserve, Plettenberg Bay, optional trips to Robben Island (where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned) and Outeniqualand (known for its steam railway). The 17-day trip departs December 19th 2007.
