For a ski break with a difference, you could try combining a Norwegian cruise with three nights at the family-friendly ski resort of Voss.
This winter DFDS Seaways are offering a Taste of Ski cruise to Norway, incorporating a sight-seeing stop in Bergen, a tour of Norwegian fjords or a two day ski course for beginners and intermediate learners.
Departing from Newcastle, your first two nights are spent on board the MS Queen of Scandinavia, where you can make use of the bars, restaurants and casinos.
Arriving in Bergen, you are taken on a two hour tour of the city before being driven to the ski resort of Voss in western Norway.
Here you can choose from three ski packages; adult beginners, child beginners and intermediate learners.
There is guaranteed snow at the resort, and the slopes remain relatively quiet and crowd-free as it is still unknown to the majority of British holidaymakers.
There is also the opportunity to go tobogganing, dog-sledding or on a horse-drawn carriage ride.
The cost of the tour includes all lessons, boot hire and lift passes for the two days.
An alternative to skiing lessons, is the train, boat and coach tour to the waterfalls and mountains of Sognefjord. Here you can go windsurfing, parasailing and sea kayaking.
The cruises depart on February 2nd and 16th and March 15th. The cost of the package is £399 per person and includes all accommodation, coach transfers, food and tour guides.
