New Vietnam adventure holiday launched

Thursday, 03 May 2007 12:54
A new rail tour and adventure holiday in Vietnam taking in the history and culture of the country has been launched for early summer 2007.

The holiday, available from Flight Centre, is based around the train journey from north to south from the capital Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City.

The railway link between the two cities was completed in 1936, but was largely out of use until after the war ended in 1975, when it became known as the Reunification Express.

The trip includes a walking tour of Hanoi, sightseeing in the historic small town of Hoi An, a dragon boat river ride and a chance to go for a swim at the seaside town of Nha Trang.

The 15-day tour starts from £375 per person and includes 11-nights' bed and breakfast accommodation, two nights onboard the train, one-night onboard a boat, services of a tour leader and some lunches and dinners.

The tour departs every Sunday and Thursday from Hanoi. Flights to Hanoi returning from Ho Chi Minh City start from £520 flying with Malaysia Airlines from Heathrow via Kuala Lumpur.

The holiday is available to book until the end of May 2007 for dates until June 15th 2007.
