Luxury villa holidays during Cannes Film Festival

If you are keen to experience one of the most glamorous events in southern France - the Cannes Film Festival - and want to holiday in style, there are some very luxurious places to stay in the area.

Sanctuary Villas has properties in the Cannes region area available with the special extras of six complimentary bottles of champagne and three Palme d'Or-winning DVDs (La Dolce Vita, The Piano and The Pianist).

Located close to Tourettes sur Loup, Villa du Loup sleeps up to ten people and has a swimming pool and terrace, and costs from €8,125 (£5,520) per week.

Sleeping 12, Les Hauts de Vence boasts a Bang & Olufsen television, an outdoor Jacuzzi, a saltwater swimming pool with a jet stream, a boules pitch, a sauna, a children's playground and coastal views. A week's stay starts from €14,040 (£9,540) per week.

Even more extravagant is Solaia, on the St Jean Cap Ferrat peninsula, which has marble flooring, bathrooms and terraces, a home cinema, a tennis court and exotic gardens.

In addition to the main house, which sleeps eight, another eight can stay in the self contained garden cottages. Available from €79,995 (£54,330) per week.
