US budget airline JetBlue has entered into an agreement to share booking systems with Irish carrier Aer Lingus.
From April 3rd, customers will be able to book connecting tickets on the flights of both airlines, on both booking engines.
Aer Lingus chief executive, Dermot Mannion, commented: "We are proud to be pioneering the model of linking low fare networks and offering Aer Lingus customers the ability to easily connect across the US through JetBlue's Terminal 6 at JFK."
The aim is for passengers to be able to book tickets between Ireland and JetBlue's 40 destinations in the US.
Aer Lingus passengers will be able to clear security and then board domestic JetBlue flights at JFK airport after a trip on the airtrain to Terminal 6.
Travellers to Ireland will check-in luggage at JetBlue domestic airports and collect it at Dublin or Shannon.
JetBlue US destinations include Seattle, Denver, Fort Lauderdale and Las Vegas.
