Holidaymakers visiting Israel are being warned against all but essential travel to border areas with Gaza following recent rocket attacks.
The Foreign Office stepped up its warnings for visiting Israel last night, now advising "against all but essential travel to areas within five kilometres of the Gaza perimeter, including Sderot, because of rocket fire from Gaza".
It added there remains a high threat of terrorism in Israel.
"Following renewed Israeli military action in Gaza in May 2007, Palestinian militant groups have threatened attacks in Israel," the Foreign Office warned.
A warning against all travel to the Sheba'a Farms and Ghajar areas on the Lebanon border due to military operations also remains in place.
