Wednesday, 16 Jul 2008 10:06
Tenerife is currently topping the charts as the most popular summer holiday destination so far for 2008, according to recent analysis.

Florida sun trap Orlando was second, with a 60 per cent increase in searches on this destination as Brits rush to spend their sterling in the US.

Price comparison website Cheapflights.co.uk has found that Euro zone favourites such as Alicante and Malaga are still performing strongly, coming in at third and fourth place.

Long haul destinations Bangkok and Dubai are enjoying fifth and sixth position in 2008, the first appearance in the summer top ten holiday destinations for Dubai.

Paphos (7th) is the only Greek resort destination to make the top flight this year, despite all the hype around the Mamma Mia movie.

Dalaman in Turkey and Faro in the Algarve remain popular as people look for summer holiday value for money.

Another Spanish contender, Mallorca also continues to defy economic uncertainty as we head for summer sunshine, rounding off the list in tenth place.

Cheapflights.co.uk analysed searches for the period May 1st to June 30th 2008.
