TV chef Gary Rhodes has opened a new restaurant in Dubai at the luxury Grosvenor House hotel.

The British chef, known for his Anglo-French style dishes, said he was looking forward to challenging diners' ideas of modern British cooking.

On the menu are starters such as lobster omelette thermidor and braised oxtail cottage pie, and mains including slow roast belly of pork served with a sage, apple and onion tart with gravy, fillet steak and kidney pie, and roast breast of bitter duck accompanied by a parsnip purée and Madeira gravy.

Commenting on the new restaurant Rhodes said: "Since opening, Mezzanine has become one of Dubai’s most renowned restaurants and I look forward to building on this solid foundation to create a truly exceptional culinary destination.

"Food connoisseurs both living in and visiting Dubai are able to sample the delights of an array of delectable foods from across the world, so I am really looking forward to challenging their current perceptions of modern British cuisine with this new venture."
