Active holiday specialist Inghams has revealed its new range of short breaks for 2008, which range from city breaks in New York, to ski, lake and mountain destinations.

Previously known as Eurobreak, the new Short Break brochure features holidays to 12 new destinations including Toronto and Vancouver in Canada, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Boston in the US, Cape Town in South Africa, Dubai and Hong Kong.

In Europe, there are new city breaks available to the Russian capital Moscow (thanks to the popularity of Inghams' St Petersburg tour), and the city of Lille in northern France, now just one hour and 20 minutes away by Eurostar from London.

"People try to cram in as much as possible into the 'work-life balance' leaving very little time for relaxation," commented Neil Kewley, Inghams' short break manager.

He continued: "Market trends indicate continued strong growth in shorter duration breaks as the nation strives to escape from stressful working lives. [People are going for] city breaks for culture, food and wine, spa breaks for health, wellness, anti-aging and relaxation has been described as the new cultural trend.

"Short ski breaks offering the ultimate winter adventure for first-timers and ski veterans, as well as the many people looking for an alternative winter snow experience rocks whilst few activities invigorate the senses like walking in the mountains or swimming in a natural Alpine Lake."
