7 new adventure holidays for 2008

Monday, 26 Nov 2007 10:21
Adventure holidays in Colombia, Venezuela, Ethiopia, Gabon and Tibet are among the new breaks available with Explore in 2008.

The adventure holiday specialist has seven new holidays in its 2008/9 Beyond programme, with activities on offer ranging from river and sea excursions and trekking breaks, to tribal visits and cultural tours.

With the new Colombia tour, holidaymakers can visit Caribbean beaches, colonial cities and glaciers; the Venezuela tour includes visits to the Shirian Indians in remote areas of the country; in Tibet holidaymakers can trek their way up the holy mountain of Kailash; and see Africa's wildlife and wildernesses in Gabon, São Tomé and Ethiopia.

"The Beyond programme mirrors our finely-honed philosophy, offering exhilarating travel with minimum impact on local environments and cultures," commented Ashley Toft, Explore managing director.

"These particular trips are very much suited to travellers who are looking to push their personal boundaries and discover what really lies beyond our own skylines."

Other destinations in the Beyond brochure include Algeria, Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, Madagascar, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda and Uzbekistan.
