For parents with restless teens, who want more from a holiday than lying on a beach or around the pool, the Adventure Holiday Company has come up with a whole host of adventure holidays aimed specifically at older children and their parents.

The Teenage adventure range, are designed specifically with children over 12-years-old in mind, and include active, high energy pursuits such as rock climbing, white water rafting and quad biking in places as far flung as Peru, Botswana and Egypt.

For £749 per person you can spend eight days canoeing and rock climbing down Slovenia's Kolpa Canyon, or abseiling in Finland’s Koli National Park.

Or for around £2000 per person you can spend two weeks exploring Botswana's Okavango Delta and Etosha National Park, spotting herds of while elephants or prides of lions or track Gorillas and chimpanzees in Uganda.
