Trips to see Uganda's gorillas, exploring the beaches, mountains and game parks of Tanzania and mountain biking in South Africa are among the new tours from Acacia Adventure Holidays for 2008.
The Africa overland tour specialist also has new holidays volunteering in Tanzania, sailing in Madagascar, and seeing primates in Rwanda.
Acacia has a six-day adventure holiday that includes a visit to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is home to monkeys, chimpanzees, and endangered gorillas. The trip departs year-round, with prices starting at £225, plus a local payment of £65 and a gorilla permit of £252 per person, not including flights.
Beaches and wildlife combine in a new 11-day Tanzania holiday. The trip includes visits to Zanzibar (known for its beaches and amazing array of spices), Mount Kilimanjaro, and safaris to the Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti National Park and Olduvai Gorge. The trip costs from £495 plus a local payment of £30 per person, not including international flights, and is available year-round.
Also new is a walking, cycling, canoeing and safari holiday in lesser-known part of South Africa, mountain biking in the peaks of the Drakensburg Mountains, hiking at Njesuthi, tribe visits in Zululand and the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve. There is also a chance to relax on the beach at Kosi Bay and go canoeing in the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park.
The 15-day small group safari costs from £965 plus a local payment of £149 per person, with year-round departures, not including international flights.
