Ski season in Norway gets underway

Monday, 19 Nov 2007 08:56
The ski season in Norway has got underway with four of the country's resorts opening.

Norway's biggest ski destination, Trysil, is now open, and to reassure early season skiers the resort is offering visitors their money back if snow cover is poor.

Also open is Hemsedal - known for its lively atmosphere - and the family-orientated resort of Geilo, as well as the smaller, all-round resort of Hafjell, close to Lillehammer.

"With some great snowfall already in our main resorts it looks set to be a fantastic year for skiing in Norway," explained Catherine Foster, of Innovation Norway.

"There are a wide range of slopes to suit skiers of all abilities and visitors are guaranteed a warm welcome and scenery to rival resorts worldwide."
