Flybe has announced plans to extend its network of cheap flights to Germany.
The low-cost airline will start flying to the cities of Dusseldorf and Hanover from Southampton airport later in the year.
There will be two flights a day to Dusseldorf and a daily service to Hanover throughout the winter, with the airline looking to capitalise on Germany's higher profile among travellers resulting from the 2006 World Cup
Tickets will start at £29.99 for one-way flights including taxes and charges, and Flybe claims this will undercut competitors on both routes by 50 per cent.
Dusseldorf, the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, is set on the river Rhine and its tradition in arts, culture and theatre means there is plenty to entertain the cultural traveller.
Hanover, in the heart of the Lower Saxony region, has a medieval old town with plenty of museums, while the Eilenriede Forest is a huge green space providing many outdoor activities in the heart of the city.
Flights to the two cities launch on October 29th.
