Music and theatre comes to Cyprus this summer

A series of music and theatre events will be taking place in Cyprus this summer.

Opera, urban music and classical plays will be performed across Cyprus' venues from late July to August 2007.

The series starts with the Festival of Ancient Greek Drama where plays such Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides and Ajax by Sophocles will be staged at venues in Pafos, Limassol and Nicosia. The festival runs until August 7th 2007.

The Summer Medfest urban music festival in Nicosia takes place on July 28th 2007, headlined by the likes of 50 Cent, Akon, and former Mis-Teeq singer Alesha.

If you having a late summer holiday in Cyprus, then you can also catch the Pafos Aphrodite Festival, from August 31st to September 2nd 2007, where Verdi's Il Trovatore opera will be performed at Paphos' medieval castle, with subtitles in Greek and English.
