Biotruck travels to Greece on grease

Vehicles powered by chip fat and cooking oil will be driving across Europe this summer, in the latest rally event from the organisers of last year's chocolate-powered lorry.
After the success of the trip to Timbuktu, this August 30 driving teams will set off from the UK for a two-week journey to Greece.
They will have to "scavenge" fatty fuel from restaurants along the way, avoiding fossil fuels and trying to achieve a zero carbon footprint.
However, they can use biodiesel in an emergency, or buy fresh cooking oil from supermarkets.
"The aim is to see if using waste vegetable oil for long distances is practical and feasible, and to have a bit of a laugh on the way," commented Andy Pag, one of the organisers from the Biotruck team.
Most modern diesel engines can run on blended vegetable oil and regular fuel and do not need to be converted to run on biodiesel, according to Pag.
