Two oneworld alliance partners, Cathay Pacific and Finnair, have announced they will start code-sharing on flights from Hong Kong to Australia and Bangkok from March 1st.
The new deal will mean Finnair can increase its Hong Kong route from a four times per week to a daily service.
"Thanks to the cooperation, Finnair will be able to offer its customers more choices in Australia," said Mikko Komi, a spokesperson from Finnair's Alliances and International Relations Department.
"The connections at Hong Kong airport are very convenient and the large number of destinations gives our customer flexibility in their travel plans," he added.
Sydney, Melbourne and Perth will all be destinations for the code-shared flights.
Cathay Pacific will be able to sell tickets with its own flight number to Finnair-operated flights between Helsinki and Amsterdam, Frankfurt and London.
