More British tourists are visiting Singapore than visitors from any other European country, new figures reveal.
The island, which is known for its year-round warm climate and high standards of living, is a major stopover destination for travellers to Australia and New Zealand.
The Singapore Tourism Board is reporting two per cent more holidaymakers visited the destination in October compared with the same time last year, a new record for the month.
It finds the British are in the top ten countries to visit Singapore. The most visitors to Singapore are from Indonesia, China, Australia, India and Malaysia.
On average, a hotel room in Singapore cost £73 per night, considerably more than October 2006, where it was around a third cheaper.
