Virgin Atlantic is to double the number of flights between London Heathrow and Hong Kong from daily to twice-daily, the airline has announced.
This route is experiencing high demand and the increased frequency will allow further options for travellers connecting to other flights into China.
Travellers wanting to stopover in Hong Kong on their way to Australia or New Zealand will also have greater flexibility.
"East is the new west and this second daily service will offer our passengers even more opportunities via Hong Kong, which is the third busiest long-haul route out of Heathrow after New York's JFK and Dubai," commented chief executive Steve Ridgway.
The new flight times will start from October 28th 2008, with flight VS238 operating three times a week Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and then daily from December 4th.
Flight VS238 will depart London Heathrow Terminal 3 at 16:00 GMT, arriving in Hong Kong at 12:30 local time the following afternoon.
Flight VS239 will operate between Hong Kong and London Heathrow on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from October 29th 2008, and then operate daily from December 5th.
This scheduled flight will depart Hong Kong at 14:15 GMT, arriving at London Heathrow at 19:20 local time the same day.
