Travellers to Nigeria have been issued further warnings about areas of the country that should not be visited by the Foreign Office.
The Foreign Office has added Akwa Ibom State to the areas which it advises against all travel to, after four British oil workers were abducted this month.
In statement the Foreign Office said: "We advise against all travel to the Bakassi Peninsula and to the riverine areas of Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers States.
"We also advise against all but essential travel to Akwa Ibom State and the rest of Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers States. You should not travel to Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa or Akwa Ibom unless and until you have taken full, appropriate security advice and have assured that robust precautions are in place."
The advice is based on the risk of kidnapping in the Niger Delta being high - there have been six kidnapping incidents involving 18 British nationals so far this year.
