A new winter sun holiday to Kenya's coast has been announced by luxury travel specialist Somak Holidays.

From October 1st 2007 holidaymakers will be able to visit the Tented Beach Retreat in Gazi Bay, Mombasa.

The unusual resort has 12 Arabian-style tents filled with luxuries such as four-poster beds, dressing tables, bathrooms with large shower areas and air conditioning, as well as a butler.

Holiday activities from the resort will include bush walks, heritage visits, diving and deep sea fishing, water sports, sunset cruises and health treatments.

The team behind the new resort also own and manage Kenya's Cove Luxury Tree House resort, and support responsible tourism by working closely with local communities, and contributing to local development projects.

Seven nights at the resort start from £1,099 per person on an all inclusive basis including return flights with Kenya Airways from London Heathrow.
