Members of the Federation of Tour Operators have announced due to Foreign Office advice, they are suspending holidays to Kenya with departures due up to and including Monday January 14th, although international flights still continue to operate.

Alternative holidays for these customers will be offered where available or refunds of moneys paid. Customers currently in Kenya are being advised of the Foreign Office advice to travellers and are expected to return home on their planned departure dates.

The situation is being reviewed regularly and an announcement about the next planned charter holiday departures due on Friday January 18th will be made on Wednesday January 16th.

The Foreign Office are still advising against all but essential travel to Kenya due to reports of violence in the Kisumu and the Kibera, Eastleigh, and Mathare areas of Nairobi on January 8th and 9th, although the situation does now seems to be less volatile.

If you are in affected areas you should remain indoors and avoid all public gatherings and large public meetings.

Any rallies, even if advertised as peaceful, could potentially turn violent.

See the Foreign Office Kenya travel advice page for more information.
