Camping is generally inexpensive and fun
The Camping and Caravanning Club is challenging holidaymakers to "get out under canvas" over the spring bank holiday.
National Camping and Caravanning Week takes place between May 28 and June 3 and the club says it could be the start of an exciting new foot-loose and fancy-free lifestyle for those who take up their challenge.
The club's
website contains details of events such as tent pitching competitions and camping and caravanning balls.
The Camping and Caravanning Club chairman, David Batty, said: "Camping and caravanning is generally inexpensive and fun and we are actively encouraging everyone to visit the countryside and enjoy the wonders of the great outdoors during the week.
"All we ask is that you give it a try, and if you're anything like our 400,000 members, you'll love it and keep coming back for more"
