easy does it: accomodation from £20 per night
The UK's first 'no-frills' easyHotel opened its doors in London on Monday.
The rooms range from small to tiny, there is no room service, and nowhere to eat, but a one night stay costs as little as £20.
The hotel has been set up by easyGroup entrepreneur Stelios Haji-Ioannou, who is rolling out the 'no-frills' concept that has reduced prices and increased consumer choice in the aviation industry, to the hotel industry.
By providing a safe, clean room with an en-suite bathroom for the night, easyHotel aims to fill the gap in the market between branded hotel chains and unbranded bed & breakfast accommodation.
Rooms are much smaller than for your average hotel or bed & breakfast - something easyHotel is making no attempt to hide, advertising rates for small, very small and tiny rooms.
The London hotel, situated at 14 Lexham Gardens, just off Cromwell Road between South Kensington and Earls Court, has 34 double bedrooms most of which don't have windows, but do come with double mattresses, air conditioning and a pay-as-you-go television costing £5 per 24 hours.
