Take a ferry across the Mersey or see the Beatlemania at the Albert Dock in Liverpool
The must-see sights of England's rock and pop music heritage are being launched today with a new map charting top destinations for holidaymakers from Abbey Road in London to Liverpool's Beatlemania.
The England Rocks! map highlights 113 locations connected with British rock and pop stars from the last 50 years including modern bands such as The Zutons, as well as legendary groups such as Pink Floyd (East Anglia), The Smiths (Manchester), Blur and Madness (Camden in London).
One of the top music stops in London is Abbey Road studios, famed for the Beatles' album of the same name and the iconic shot of the group on the zebra crossing outside the studio.
However, the studio has also had a host of other famous names recording their work there, including Cliff Richard and Adam Faith, as well as comedian Peter Sellers and jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald, with prints of the stars available at the studio's shop. For more information see

As well as the recording hotspots of the musicians themselves, the map highlights the landmarks that make it onto the sleeve art of famous records.
Holidaymakers can visit the iconic street photographed on the Oasis album
(What's the Story) Morning Glory - London's Berwick Street - which is also home to a host of record shops, or visitors to Sheffield could head for a night out at The Leadmill Club to see an up and coming band in the venue where Pulp and the Arctic Monkeys started out.
The guide also puts a spotlight on areas of the country that are less well-known for their musical heritage, giving Black Sabbath fans details of Ozzy Osbourne's former drinking haunts in Birmingham, as well as Stoke-on-Trent's connections with Robbie Williams and Slash from Guns n' Roses.
The ultimate of all music holidays - the festival - is also covered by the map, particularly useful for holidaymakers to get the low-down on newer events such as Bestival on the Isle of Wight and Summer Sundae in Leicester.
The online version of the map is fully searchable, so before you take off for your British break you can add a few extra music hotspot to your itinerary.
