A Scottish company is offering stays at private villas in Florida from as little as £4.99 per person per night.

It means a two-week stay in a villa in Florida for a family of five starts from as little as £349.

Holidaymakers seeking accommodation in Florida would do well to consider Lowcostfloridavillas.com, as its starting prices are below that of a basic hotel room.

Luxury villas with swimming pools are available from as little as £7.99 per person per night.

The company aims to keep prices low by applying the low cost/high occupancy model used by low cost airlines.

"The low cost airlines succeed by keeping their planes in the air as much as possible. We are simply applying the same principle to the accommodation market and keeping our costs down by ensuring the occupancy level remains as high as possible," said Jim Whitelaw, the brainchild behind Lowcostfloridavillas.com.

He added: "Guests will find it hard to beat our accommodation rates from just £4.99 per night for quality villas, while owners are getting a good deal with their properties constantly being booked."

Holidaymakers from Scotland can bag a particularly cheap deal from June, because low cost airline FlyGlobeSpan is starting a service to Orlando Sanford from Glasgow with one-way fares starting from as little as £130.
