Killer whales are among the attractions at SeaWorld
To celebrate the arrival of spring, the rapidly expanding Floridian city of Kissimmee has arranged a raft of special launches to usher in the season.
A number of the city's leading attractions have something new to offer for the spring season, starting with monstrous goings-on at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
New for April is the Expedition Everest ride, a high-velocity train adventure that will take visitors on a roller-coaster journey to meet the mountain's legendary hairy inhabitant – the yeti.
Using rebuilt tea plantation railcars, the ride will give pleasure-seekers a thrillingly authentic journey round a recreated Andes.
Elsewhere, Splash Island celebrates its grand opening, marking its first full season.
Visitors to the extravagant water park can now enjoy the aquatic attractions of the Kowabunga Bay wave pool, Polynesian Adventure water-play area, Paradise River, Tonga Tubes and Voodoo Plunge slide.
Other damp delights are being launched at SeaWorld Orlando, which is premiering its most ambitious killer whale show to date.
The show,
Believe, will feature a dramatic three-storey set, original music and panoramic screens for what has been described as 'killer whale ballet'. It will see killer whales dancing to every beat and note of the music score.
In addition to this, SeaWorld is gearing up for its May launch of some new children-oriented attractions, such as the kids' play-area, Shamu's Happy Harbour, and a family-friendly roller coaster.
