You've seen the film, now take a holiday in America
Fans of Peter Jackson's new movie,
King Kong, are being encouraged to visit the film's key sites by taking a holiday to America.
The remake of the 1930's classic has been wowing audiences in the UK for the last two weeks and topped the US film charts over Christmas.
King Kong's production team recreated the New York of the thirties for the film and the Empire State Building again takes centre stage in its final scenes.
Shots of the over-sized gorilla atop the Empire State Building are the lynchpin of a campaign to encourage tourists to holiday in America using its world-famous entertainment industry.
The
You've Seen the Film, Now Visit the Set campaign is aimed at driving British travellers to the well-known America settings seen in movies past and present.
Other films featured in the TV and billboard advertising campaign include
Chicago,
Miami Blues,
Maid in Manhattan and
Sweet Home Alabama.
"America's people, landscapes and skylines are even more diverse and exciting in person than on the silver screen," said US commerce secretary Carlos M Gutierrez.
"British travellers can visit the United States several times and have a differe nt experience with each stay."
