British Airways will have five times more seats available at its record low one-way fare of £29 from today.

Almost two million additional seats will now be annually available from Gatwick to Europe at low prices. More than 900,000 will be priced from £29 one-way (including taxes and charges) with a further 700,000 from £34.

Eight extra leisure destinations including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Geneva, Madrid and Toulouse join Bordeaux, Grenoble and Manchester in the £29 fare category, saving up to £23.

Thirteen cities such as Naples, Pisa, Verona and Varna begin at £34, saving up to £44 on BA's previous prices, and further flung places such as Izmir, Dubrovnik and Thessaloniki begin at £44 one-way, a saving of up to £32.

With up to 56 per cent off previous fares, holidaymakers will be able to take advantage of the low prices all year round

BA has also cut the price of upgrading to its premium shorthaul service, Club Europe, for an additional £50 each way.

Andrew Crawley, British Airways' head of sales, said: "We had a huge response from customers to the new European fares that we launched in April, and it has prompted us to make this substantial increase in the number of seats available at these low prices all year round.

"As well as low fares, customers will also benefit from our full-service ethos including seat selection, online check-in for everyone, free baggage allowance, free carriage of sporting equipment and excellent customer service." XXX
