Brits love cheap flights

Brits have taken more cheap flights than other European nationalities
Brits are the top users of cheap flights in Europe, new research shows.
More than four in ten adults in Britain have taken a cheap flight at some point in the past.
This is between two and three times higher than in the four other countries surveyed, according to research by TNS.
Italy is in second place with one in five people taking cheap flights, but just one in eight people in Germany, France and Spain have flown with a low-fares airline.
Holidaymakers in the UK and Italy are prepared to accept a lower standard of service while flying in return for cheap flights, the survey shows.
Those in Germany prefer service and comfort to cheap flights, while Spanish travellers have the strongest concerns about the safety of low-fares airlines.
"While in the UK and Italy airlines can generate customer loyalty through low-price offers, there seems to be a general perception among the German public that real bargains are very hard to come by," said Michael Ehlting, senior research consultant at TNS.
