Amsterdam: Air Scotland plans to fly direct to the Dutch capital
Air Scotland, the Glasgow based budget airline, has announced plans to fly direct to Paris and Amsterdam.

The flights will run twice a week from Glasgow Airport to the capitals and will start on May 21.

The airline has said that it is now concentrating on links between Glasgow and European cities and dropping its services to resorts.

Raymond McMillan, Air Scotland's operations director said: "We have looked at the figures for Paris and think there is a market there, especially for weekends."

The new routes have been welcomed by Glasgow Airport.

"The two destinations are important hubs and have proved successful in the past," said airport terminal manager, Paul White.

Air Scotland operates one plane, a Boeing 757, which this year will also fly to Athens, Alicante, Malaga and Palma.
