Amsterdam: arts and antiques festival begins on Sunday
The hugely popular annual week-long Amsterdam national art and antiques fair begins on Sunday.
The 17th pAn Amsterdam fair takes place between December 5th - 12th and will offer its usual diversity of objects in various price ranges.
There is plenty to suit the tastes of both established and new collectors, with exhibits ranging from 19th-century paintings, clocks, furniture, modern and contemporary art to silver and jewellery, manuscripts, old master paintings, ceramics and much more.
In the 17th century - the era of Vermeer and de Hooch - Holland was the most prosperous country in Europe, with a wealthy middle class who filled their homes with good furniture and exquisite genre paintings.
pAn specialises in the very best on the market from this era and later periods, with more than 100 dealers from the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Belgium presenting an impressive variety of objects.
