The dome of St Peter's Basilica
Vatican City is brimming with history, culture and museums, and a new service allows art lovers to experience first-hand all it has to offer.
Artineraries is a service that allows users to take an audio tour around some of the Vatican's biggest attractions, including Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel and the gloriously ostentatious St Peter's Basilica.
Narrated by BBC's Sister Wendy Beckett, the tours are being released in celebration of the 500th anniversary on the Vatican Museums.
Art lovers can either download the tours from the internet or buy them as CD packs, allowing them to listen to them whether they are in the museum or not.
The packs come with 'insider's guides', providing insight to some of the world's most famous artefacts and exhibits.
Lisa Tucci, the brains behind Artineraries, said: "It seemed appropriate to pair the latest cutting edge technology with one of the oldest museums in the world."
You may recognise art lover Sister Wendy from a number of cultural TV shows, including
Sister Wendy's Odyssey and
Sister Wendy's Grand Tour.
Ms Tucci said: "Who better to tell the story than Sister Wendy, whose gift for helping us discover the art and artists through her deep passion, makes for a truly unique experience."
