The Kyrenian Lifestyle holiday takes ramblers to Northern Cyprus
Walking holiday operator Ramblers Holiday has introduced new walking and cooking holidays in Cyprus and Umbria, Italy, for 2006.
The new itineraries build on the success of its 'lifestyle' holidays in Tuscany and Samos, Greece.
Keen ramblers will get the chance to walk the varied terrains of northern Cyprus as part of the Kyrenian Lifestyle holiday.
It is a one-week half board break in the Hotel Socrates near a traditional Cypriot harbour, with a variety of challenging slopes, valleys and tracks to walk.
When not out walking, ramblers will be taught culinary skills and the secrets of local wines on three afternoons.
The Umbrian Lifestyle break is based at the newly-opened cookery school at the Grotta Azzurra hotel where ramblers will spend three days learning the secrets of Umbrian cuisine.
The highlight of the walking programme is a visit to the Piano Grande – a wide open plateau which stretches for miles high above the town of Norcia. The October departure includes half a day devoted to truffle hunting with dogs.
Details
Kyrenian Lifestyle – Departures are in May and October from Stansted and Manchester. Prices start from £585 per person.
Umbrian Lifestyle – This one-week half board break has departures in May, June, September and October from London Heathrow. Prices start from £586.
