Paris strike cancelled

Tourists will be able to fly to Paris after the strike was cancelled
A strike at a Paris airport has been called off after negotiations between ground staff and the airport's bosses were successful.

Strike action had been ongoing since the weekend and had been expected to continue, but an agreement has now been reached which will see the staff return to work.

The industrial action was called following the death of a flight attendant caused another worker to be suspended over health and safety concerns.

However, Paris' problems have continued, as severe weather conditions have left many flights grounded.

Snow at the Charles de Gaulle airport is preventing departures from the UK arriving in the French capital and that is particularly concerning for hundreds of Welsh rugby fans.

Wales are due to play the next leg of their Six Nations campaign in Paris this weekend, but with the next flights now not scheduled to leave until Thursday, rugby fans face an anxious wait to see whether they will be able to travel for the game.

But tourist bosses in Paris are confident that the bad weather will subside and believe that the city's tourist industry will be able to pick itself up after a difficult few weeks.
