CocoLand at the Coconut Bay Resort, St Lucia
The Caribbean may be better known as a honeymooner's paradise, but a family holiday to St Lucia could give you just as much time to yourself.
Just as the darkening days of the British autumn and winter are setting in you could be looking forward to sun, sea and sand at St Lucia’s all-inclusive, Coconut Bay Resort & Spa.
The resort has recently announced the debut a new children’s programme called CocoLand, which has been developed by a team of education specialists to ensure an intellectual and enjoyable holiday for youngsters.
Wesley Pankey of Coconut Bay Resort & Spa said: "CocoLand is much more than a babysitting service. It is a programme based on solid educational principles, fun activities and providing knowledge that kids will keep with them long after they return home."
The programme starts as soon as the kids arrive at the resort when they receive a pack full of fun things they will need for their time at Cocoland including a water bottle for the jungle tours, a T-shirt, a bucket hat or baseball cap and journal to record their adventures.
Youngsters are put into two age groups, with curriculums designed to cater for different levels in each group.
Children aged three to nine are part of the CocoLand Kidz Klub and aged nine to fourteen make up the Adventure Club.
The kids that qualify for both age groups have their choice of which they would like to join.
While at the Kidz Klub, children take informative nature hikes on Coconut Bay’s 85-acre grounds, learning about the Caribbean’s geography and St Lucia’s ecology.
They also participate in supervised arts and crafts, enjoy the very large all-ages water park and play at the Kidz Klub water playground.
The Adventure Club for the older kids combines a variety of physical and educational challenges that require teamwork and problem-solving skills.
All children will discover St Lucia’s history, dating back to tales of pirates, local traditions and even the customs of today.
Exploring the lush foliage and indigenous animals, including the iguana and the orange winged parrot, will also be part of the fun. The water park has two huge water slides and a lazy river, as well as the fastest water slide in the Caribbean.
Situated on south coast, just a short transfer from the Hewanorra International Airport, Coconut Bay Resort & Spa has 254 rooms, three swimming pools, a spa, and the island’s largest water park.
