Wellington's YHA scrubs up nicely

Friday, 03 Dec 2004 16:12
Backpackers searching for the YHA hostel in Wellington should look out for its shiny new facade.

That is if they did not already spot the hostel's new sign, which can be seen from the Cook Strait.

The scaffolding is being taken down from the outisde of the 320-bed hostel following a massive refurbishment programme both inside and out.

In addition to the new face, the hostel now boasts double-glazed windows, new en-suite bathrooms, redecorated bedrooms and new carpet.

The hostel is situated in the heart of Wellington's buzzing cafe , bar, club and theatre district. And is conveniently located both for exploring Wellington and as a stopover on the way to or from the South Island.
