If you are a rugby fan inspired by the All Blacks performance in the Rugby World Cup then you can learn lots more about New Zealand rugby with a trip to the country.
As one of the world's most Rugby-mad nations, New Zealand can offer some amazing sporting experiences, from coaching sessions to learning how to perform the famous haka war dance.
New Zealand is also gearing up to host the World Cup in 2011, so Rugby fever should already be building up ahead of the tournament.
For all rugby-fans one of New Zealand's must visit attractions is
Eden Park in Auckland.
This will be the stadium hosting the Rugby World Cup final in 2011, and as well as being the country's biggest, it has also been granted $NZ190 million (around £65 million) in redevelopment money.
Auckland is New Zealand's biggest city, and as well as being great a city break destination there are lots of islands to visit close to the city. Auckland is also one of New Zealand's most cosmopolitan areas and is home to the largest international concentration of Polynesian people.
Another must visit attraction is the
New Zealand Rugby Museum in Palmerston North.
This great value for money museum is packed with rugby footage and memorabilia. One of the first ever rugby museums, its highlights include an excellent photo library, from which visitors can trace the development of the All Blacks into one of the most respected and difficult to beat sides in the world. Admission costs $NZ5 (around £1.60).
To get an even better understanding of the New Zealand rugby mindset you can delve into the Maori heritage linked with the sport, and learn the haka war dance.
A form of the traditional Maori dance has been performed by the All Blacks since the late 19th century, and you can get an understanding of the true origins of the dance with a half day workshop in Nelson Bay, run by
Creative Tourism. The course costs $NZ90 per person (around £30).
And if you are keen to watch some games while you are there, then one of the best times to go is during the fast-paced
Rugby Sevens tournament in February 2008.
The event takes place in Wellington, and is known for its fancy dress and fun atmosphere, attracting around 35,000 people over two days.
Rugby Sevens packages with three night's accommodation, pre-match beers, some meals and tickets to the games start from $NZ515 (around £175) with
Bottom Bus.
