An aerial view of Melbourne
Melbourne is one of Australia's most picturesque cities, at once modern and urban while retaining plenty of green spaces and tree-lined streets.
Stunning to look at from ground-level, the city becomes even more spectacular when one views it from above, which you can now do in an experience that is both thrilling and scenic.
The Eureka Tower is home to the fastest elevator in the southern hemisphere, which races visitors up 88 floors to the soon-to-be-opened observation deck.
Travelling at speeds of nine metres per second, tourists soar into the sky to the deck, which sits 285 metres above the ground and takes just 40 seconds to reach.
From the Eureka's observation deck, you can take in the dazzling 360-degree view of Melbourne, allowing you to see as far as the Dandenong ranges and across Port Phillip Bay.
Sandra Chipchase, chief executive of Melbourne Convention and Visitors Bureau, said: "Melbourne is a city that continues to grow and develop with a range of new attractions for both business visitors and tourists."
She added: "A trip to the top of Eureka Tower is sure to become a ‘must do’ activity in Melbourne."
As if panoramic views and a ride in a lift that would put Willy Wonka to shame are not enough, there are also plans to add a stunning walkway around the top of the Eureka tower.
The development will see tourists walking around an eye-watering 350 metres above Melbourne.
