Prices slashed for a Singapore spree

Singapore is a shopper's paradise at the best of times, teeming with malls, trendy outlets and bargains galore.

However, between the end of May and July 23rd, shoppers' reasons to make a trip to Singapore increase, as prices tumble in the Great Singapore Sale.

The shopping haven explodes into an even more vibrant hub of activity during this period, when they can pick up products such as iPods from Apple for 50 per cent less than usual.

Shops also open later, giving more time for visitors to ensure they have the chance to bag as many bargains as possible, while lending a party vibe to the proceedings, with late night events and specials.

For those who realise their suitcase is perhaps not equipped to take their new possessions back home, there are also discounts on Speedpost Express, a service which safely sends your purchase direct to your house.

While Olympic athletes might disagree, there is little more tiring than trekking around what seems like hundreds of shops and, with this in mind, the organisers of the Great Singapore Sale have laid on the Shopaholics' Mercedes Cab, which can take you back to your hotel after a heavy day blitzing the credit card.

During the Sale, there are a number of competitions, such as the Great Singapore Shopping Challenge, which pits teams against one another to see who can score the biggest savings, as well as daily prize draws.
