Tropical island golf in Mauritius
Mauritius is one of the few places where you can enjoy a golf holiday on a course located on its very own tropical island.
The One & Only golf course at Ile aux Cerfs offers 18 holes with ocean views in every direction, as well as boasting a design by German pro-golfer Bernard Langer.
The unusual golf course is served by two luxury hotel resorts, the closest of which is Le Touessrok.
As well as golf, Le Touessrok has a watersports centre, a spa and its own island retreat, Ilot Mangénie, accessible by boat.
Named after a nearby shipwreck, the Le Saint Géran luxury resort also gives its guests the chance to play on Ile aux Cerfs golf course, which is a 30 minute transfer from the hotel.
But much closer is a nine-hole course, designed by golfing great Gary Player.
Le Saint Géran, which is located on a 60-acre private peninsula by the Indian Ocean, also has its own golf academy.

The Ile aux Cerfs is located to the east of Mauritius, which is a good place for golfing enthusiasts to head, as there are four hotels in the area which also have access to golf courses.
For golfers looking for both variety and a challenge, the Belle Mare Plage Hotel has two championship-level 18-hole courses.
The hotel also a spa, seven restaurants, and has beach located by a corals, which make it popular for snorkelling and other water sports activities.

Further north, in a secluded spot is Le Prince Maurice, named after the pioneer of the island's ancient spice trade.
The hotel shares the same two golf courses, and has 89 colonial-style suites, some of which are built on stilts over a natural fish reserve, as well as a floating restaurant.
There is a free shuttle service and complimentary green fees at the Belle Mare Plage's golf courses.
