Hong Kong is one of the world's premier destinations for shoppers, with its massive, pristine malls – temples to retail therapy – and vast amounts of choice.

While Hong Kong is usually awash with happy shoppers, there will soon be even more reason to whip the plastic out and spend, spend, spend, with the Hong Kong Shopping Festival.

Taking place between June 24th and August 31st, this annual shopping extravaganza features late-opening shops, better-value deals, and special product lines.

Among the shopping malls worth experiencing are the grand City Plaza, the Dragon Centre, Festival Walk and Pacific Place.

In addition to the larger complexes, there are plenty of individual shops that purvey a tremendous selection of quality goods.

Take Page One, for example, a hip art dealership that specialises in magazines, books and photography.

Or there is Sogo, a frankly enormous department store that caters for almost every taste, with thousands of brands and interesting departments.

During the festival it is easy to work up quite an appetite, which is not a problem as there are special food promotions throughout the city and in the shops.

Entertainment comes in the form of Aqua Fantasia, a multimedia light show, and there is also the Hong Kong Shopping Festival lucky draw, which gives you the chance to win 100 great prizes.
